In the heart of Praa Sands, Cornwall, our customers made the smart decision to switch from an outdated LPG combination boiler to a high-efficiency Mitsubishi Ecodan R290 Air Source Heat Pump. The move marks a major step towards sustainable, low-carbon heating without compromising comfort or performance.

Tailored Design for Low Carbon Heating

Through expert heat loss calculations and tailored system design, we delivered a solution that replaced a high-output boiler with a 5kW heat pump, maintaining comfort levels using traditional column-style radiators. Despite the lower system output, our design ensured optimal heat distribution across the property.

Hot Water Cylinder Upgrade

To maximise efficiency, we replaced the existing hot water system with a Telford Tempest Heat Pump Cylinder, optimised for low-temperature heat pump use. This ensures quick recovery times and reliable performance throughout the year.

Estimated Annual Running Costs

The new system is expected to run at under £900 per year—a significant improvement over typical LPG costs. With today’s volatile fuel prices, our customers can enjoy stable, predictable energy bills with the added bonus of reduced carbon emissions.

Affordable Thanks to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Thanks to the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) grant, the final customer cost for the entire heat pump installation came in at just over £3,000—comparable to the cost of a new LPG boiler.
